4. A la derecha: This preposition means ‘to the right’. It signifies that something is on the right side of something else.

Time Prepositions

1. Desde / Desde hace: ‘Desde’ is used to indicate the starting point of an action in time, translating to ‘since’. ‘Desde hace’, however, is used to refer to a length of time. For instance, “Sara vive en España desde el 2010” means “Sara has been living in Spain since 2010,” while “Somos amigos desde hace 40 años” means “We’ve been friends for 40 years.”

Direction Preposition

1. Hacia: This translates to ‘towards’. It indicates movement or direction towards a place. For example, “Luis camina hacia la oficina” means “Luis walks towards the office.”

Cause and Purpose Prepositions

1. Por: This preposition indicates a cause or reason, translating to ‘for’ or ‘because of’. For instance, “Yo bebo agua por el calor” means “I drink water because of the heat.”
2. Para: This preposition shows the purpose of an action, translating to ‘for’ or ‘in order to’. For example, “Yo trabajo para ganar dinero” means “I work to earn money.”
