Local Greetings in Guatemalan Spanish

Guatemalan greetings often include “vos”, a form of “you”. “¿Qué ondas, vos?” is a friendly way to say “What’s up?”. “¿Qué tal?” is widely used to ask how someone is doing. “Buena onda” (good vibes) is often used in response to greetings. When parting, you might hear “Nos vemos” or “Que te vaya bien” (May it go well for you).
