Indirect object pronouns replace the indirect object of a verb, answering “to whom?” or “for whom?” Example: “Le doy el libro a María” → “Le doy el libro” (I give the book to Maria → I give her the book). They usually come before the verb, except with infinitives, gerunds, and affirmative commands.
