Expressing Affection in Cuban Spanish

Cubans are known for their passionate expressions of affection. “Mi vida” and “mi corazón” are popular terms of endearment. “Acere” or “asere” is a friendly way to address someone. The diminutive “-ico/a” is common, as in “chiquitico.” Physical affection, including hugs and cheek kisses, is very common in greetings.
