Expressing possession without possessives

Spanish often uses other structures to express possession, such as the verb “tener” (to have) or the preposition “de” (of). Examples: “Tengo un coche” instead of “Mi coche” (I have a car), or “El libro de Juan” instead of “Su libro” (Juan’s book). These alternatives can avoid ambiguity, especially with “su/sus”.
