Scheduled future events

In Spanish, the present tense can be used to talk about scheduled future events, similar to English. For example: “El avión sale mañana a las 10” (The plane leaves tomorrow at 10), “La conferencia empieza el próximo lunes” (The conference starts next Monday). This usage emphasizes the certainty or fixedness of future plans.
