Holidays in Argentina

Argentina celebrates a mix of religious, national, and cultural holidays. Christmas (Navidad) and Easter (Pascua) are major religious observances. The colorful Carnival in February is popular in many regions. Independence Day (Día de la Independencia) on July 9th is celebrated with parades and asados (barbecues). Other unique holidays include Friend’s Day (Día del Amigo) on July 20th and Malvinas Day (Día de las Malvinas) on April 2nd. The Day of Respect for Cultural Diversity (Día del Respeto a la Diversidad Cultural) on October 12th reflects Argentina’s multicultural heritage.
